Good morning.
66° with a high in the upper 70’s and 0%POP forecast under a partly cloudy sky.

Yesterday my buddy and I decided to forego a lunch flight in the little plane, and instead went to a giant scale RC show.
There were actual turbine powered jets

Overall it was an interesting show.

Didn’t get much else done other trim some fence posts to a uniform height with the Makita chainsaw.

Today starts with seeing grandson get on the school bus for his first day of school.

Not sure what’s after that, but I sure I’ll figure something out.
Would love to build an engine like that, but would take a heck of a lot of work....and tooling.

Boo paid the rent?
LOL!
Holly had ok day yesterday hope today is good as well.

Prayers for all silent or spoken our Country
Prayers Bupps and Holly. Hope y'all have a good day.

good morning, 53 going to 73 sunny cool morning

Jacked up the van and did a check of the suspension for issues that could cause the clunking on rough roads. All joints were tight and no movements detected even when using a pry bar. Struts appear to be ok. However there was some gear sounding noise when turning the steering wheel a little side to side. Also some oil leak from the steering rack. Looks like it is a failing steering rack. Not sure I will replace it myself

Got too close to a wasp nest also and was stung a few times on my hand. Pulled the hand back really quick and it activated the emergency call on the Apple Watch. Good to see it actually works
Sorry about the wasps. Just dealt with that myself. Left 2 bumps kind of like big pimples. Still slightly red after a week.
Does the clunk happen when changing steering direction? Or going over bumps?

Today went well, under the gun to get some things done. So thankful I got all 3 student workers back under my direction. Took an act of congress almost.
Working on an annual budget spreadsheet for my boss. I do so few spreadsheets, and at least a year apart, so my spreadsheet dialect is suffering.

Popgadget, 480GS at 8.5miles high. Have to be miliary or astronaut to get much better. That is so cool. Thanks for sharing.

foxes, bears, squirrels, deer, dogs...we got it all right here!

Son's tennis game coming along. He was ranked 4th on the team, but has beaten #3 and #2. Played #1 today but lost 6-4. Says that's better than 6-2. He said his serve was off today not getting his 1st serves in like he should. Gotta get it in it to win it! Wifey says it is better for him to be #2 so that he doesn't have to play the opposing team's #1. He's no Agassi. A ton to learn and get better at.

Good evening all. 65ºF for the start, 1/8 inch in rain gauge, partly cloudy, light breeze. Light wind, partly cloudy sky, and high temp was 91ºF, HI 99ºF. Rain chances on several days and accumulation total about 1/4 inch. No more 100ºF days in forecast, I think only 2 of those this year. Made coffee to start day, men's meeting, Hand man stopped by to see what materials he needed to work on my projects for him, then trimmed the yard. Cleaned of front, back porches and sidewalk, nap, dinner, no group.

Took golf cart for a spin down to the creek, they already put a guy wire up on the new anchor they put in my way. No one stopped by to discuss with me, like the foreman said he would do last friday..... And they rutted up the "yard" down there, used a half acre to turn a truck around.
If they can't/won't respect your wishes and property why can't you run them off? What is stopping you from moving the guy wire yourself?

Back when the power was being put into this place they put the stake for the guy wire right in the middle of my driveway. The guy across the street pointed out that the stake would be in the middle of the already established (culvert already set) drive way. The power company guy said to move the driveway. Buddy across the street moved the stake after he (power company guy) had left to parallel the driveway. The pole has been there with two transformers on it for the 31 years that I have been here and the pole hasn't moved yet.
I ran the meter reader for the power company off at the business end of a shotgun when he parked his pickup on my grass. I ran a second one off who was skulking around the back of the house. Their instruction CLEARLY indicated that the meter was on the south side of the house near the front. There was zero reason to be at the back of the house.
Now we have those stupid 'smart meters' and no reason for them to be on the property at all. Suits me just fine. Yes I am anti-social. I like my solitude and privacy.

good morning all
woke up and bedroom was nippy, 50 degrees out now.
I put a small electric heater on for a few minutes. When the sun comes up later the house warms
up just fine. I don't remember such cool mornings in August, must be a jet stream thing.

coffee perking, up early, might go downtown to buy a Powerball ticket today.

glad you had a nice dinner out Buppies.

Coffee has finished brewing. 47° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 68° with clouds and possibility of rain all day. Got grocery shopping done yesterday. Then got JD mower out and sharpened blades. After grass dried cut front yard. After that did some back porch time with Sassy. No plans for today yet.
Hosta flowers are almost done blooming.

wow thermometer says 49 out now, what a drop in temps

nice hosta Ron, stuff I planted in front of house has now grown too large, very pretty but too much of it.
somehow the deer haven't devoured it here. Seems I have one rapid spreading variety, given to me by my landlady
who was thinning out her hosta. Large beautiful green leaves, now I need to dig some up and plant it somewhere else
along the woods edge.

I need to plant more than hosta for a noise barrier due to new neighbor on other side of property.
Place has been vacant and under rehab for three years, wonderfully quiet. No longer, big rental sign out.
I may have to put in another fence like the one I put in on the other side.
Will wait and see who comes in. 3500 a month for an 1100sf 1.5 bedroom cottage seems like a lot of rent.
But probably not to a couple from the city.
Owner next door who I know slightly, old family around here, has about 500k invested in property now including
new sand mound. So he has to charge a lot of rent to get any ROI. I pay a third less here on a long term lease.

lawns are always an issue on rental property. Who mows, owner or renter.
some folks really don't care what their place looks like. Luckily the guy next to me mows his regularly, which
is good. I mow my place twice as often but he knows house is on main road and very visible. Absolutely zero landscaping around
the house, no garden beds, no trees, no nothing except septic concrete tank lids jutting up in back yard.
low on aesthetics...can only get better.

I'm the only house on this side of the road without a sand mound, and hope to keep it that way.

looks like another nice day, starting with a real touch of Fall.

Good Morning,
Ct, 50 to start going to 74, with clear skies today.

Worked a half day yesterday, got home and cleaned all the dried leaves falling into the pool. Then went to a local state park and got another activation in. Got home in time to greet one of my grandsons at the bus stop.

Will pack up my truck later this morning for trip back up to Vermont, looks lukewarm a cooler weekend. Oldest son and family will be coming up Friday night after everyone is out of school.

Plan on bringing my portable POTA gear with me and if I get a break will try to do an activation of Lake St. Catherine state park.

Hoping everyone is enjoying the cooler fall weather.

Hope all have a blessed Thursday 🙏

55 outside this AM, may get to 80. Sunny and dry, Pleasant weather.

Got the entire middle pasture cut yesterday late afternoon. Looks good. Noticed a boarders horse was gimpy out there, so had to get a shoe off the beast. Lucky she cooperated. Have to convince owner since no one is riding horse on a regular basis, shoes are more trouble than they are worth.

Today, need to make some fuel runs and start the front pasture. The grasses are really thinning out due to lack of rain and the time of year.

Could use some groceries too.

Hope all have a great day, be safe.
