Good morning, temp is 31 and going to a high of 34 ーF. Wind ENE 21 gusting to 26 mph. Snowfall warning. Only 6".
I don't know why the weatherman keeps putting out these 'snowfall warnings'. This is northern Ontario in winter it is going to snow. It might snow lots, it might snow a little. But one thing is for sure, IT IS GOING TO SNOW!

The library has the book in that was ordered two weeks ago. I cannot get it until 3 P.M. when they open.
That is all I will get up to today, gotta conserve energy for tomorrows' snow plowing. That is my excuse and I am sticking to it.

Have a good day all

First cup of coffee has been poured. 47° with rain this morning. Heading to 52° with rain and wind. Got leaves picked up with Trac-Vac yesterday. Mulched leaves get packed into it very tight. Sure could use a power lift for dumping it. Oldest son from Charlotte, NC will be here in a couple of hours. Doing trucking deliveries on trip up here. No plans beyond spending time with son.
Neighbor turned on their Christmas lights yesterday.

David, good operation getting generator in truck. Dogs had your back for this job. :D

Drew, safe travels.

PJ, reminds me to give the Soup Wagon a call. Have not had my tank pumped out in a few years.

Mostly, going to wait until after thanksgiving to try glasses again. May have been from chemical used to make them that got to me.

Buckeye, fire pit looks good.

Looking, hope the heavy stuff misses your place.

Good Morning All.

Been listening to some oldies on youtube tonight. PJS, there was a band similar to ELP, called Triumvirat. Some decent stuff, if you like back cut ELP type music.

TRIUMVIRAT "THE CAPITAL OF POWER" - YouTube

Had to check, but I do have an album by Triumvirat called Spartacus, and one cut is titled The Capital of Power. The album is a sort of rock opera about Spartacus and the revolt he led:

1 of 9 The Capital Of Power 3:13 Triumvirat Spartacus 1975 Rock
2 of 9 The School Of Instant Pain 6:22 Triumvirat Spartacus 1975 Rock
3 of 9 The Walls Of Doom 3:57 Triumvirat Spartacus 1975 Rock
4 of 9 The Deadly Dream Of Freedom 3:54 Triumvirat Spartacus 1975 Rock
5 of 9 The Hazy Shades Of Dawn 3:09 Triumvirat Spartacus 1975 Rock
6 of 9 The Burning Sword Of Capua 2:41 Triumvirat Spartacus 1975 Rock
7 of 9 The Sweetest Sound Of Liberty 2:35 Triumvirat Spartacus 1975 Rock
8 of 9 The March To The Eternal City 8:47 Triumvirat Spartacus 1975 Rock
9 of 9 Spartacus 7:38 Triumvirat Spartacus 1975 Rock

Thanks for the reminder, Kyle!

Got the bench top on yesterday and topped with a layer of sacrificial hardboard. Plan was to lip the edge to stop it sliding off, though in short term may just screw it down and get using it.

I had the same plan of using white faced Masonite to top a workbench I made for myself back in high school. I still have that bench, and use it almost every day, and have yet to change that sacrificial top, though by now, some 45 years later, it could sure use a new one.

Good morning! 45 right now, supposed to get to 55 later today before temp drops and the winds starts. We are under a high wind advisory until tomorrow morning.

Took some vacation time. Off until next Wednesday. Using today to be ready for tomorrow. I have been ç*ºolunteered again to be in charge of the family Thanksgiving Turkey preparation. 1 smoked, 1 fried. Going to surprise them with smoked mac and cheese. By this evening, everything will be ready for tomorrowç—´ cooking.

Using the hot spot on my phone. Internet is out again. They claim a general outage in my area. Need to call and annoy the provider again.....because I can.

The 3rd cup of coffee is tasting just as good as the 1st w tasted.

My fearless leader abruptly announced his retirement this week. Going to be gone in the spring. Was a surprise. I may actually outlast him!

Everyone have a safe and good day. Everyone have a great Thanksgiving

looks like this bad weather is going to miss me. Got an email from step brother in Colorado saying he was in Reno trying to get to CA to visit his son and having a tough time of it. Not the best weather to be out in.

That big storm came in almost right on time yesterday, Drew. I was thankful for it being an hour late, as it took longer to get the spraying done and the last of it just barely got the two hours to be rain safe before the drizzle started. In the next hour, it went from overcast and calm to driving rain and very windy, and I had to run into town through it for parts. By the time I got to Highway 70, a 600' elevation gain, it was snowing! I learned from the radio that I80 was closed to westbound traffic at Truckee, a few miles west of Reno, and to eastbound traffic at Applegate, just west of Colfax. This morning, it's open, but chains are required unless you're in a 4WD with snow tires on all four wheels. Sure hope they get it cleaned up; I'm headed to Colfax for Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. Hope your brother is patient, and makes it over the mountains safely.

Stomach bug! Ellen got up sick yesterday. I didn’t feel good all day, woke up vomiting at 3 this morning. Happy Thanksgiving! Round two just hit while I was typing this! Happy holidays. LOL
She seems better today so maybe it’s a short time bug.
Hope everybody has a good day, I’ll check in later. Prayers for all. P

Good Morning!!!! 42F @ 4:30AM. Windy...scattered thunderstorms. High 49F. SSE winds at 20 to 30 mph, decreasing to 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 50%.
The weather peeps used the Bomb word on the radio yesterday when talking about this latest storm; thanks for the photo, Jay. Looks kinda like a hurricane, but without the super strong winds. Up early to quiet a sliding screen door that was banging in the wind, the same wind that is rattling the metal porch cover just outside the door. No rain since midnight, but we did pick up three quarters of an inch yesterday afternoon and evening. Apparently that's enough for CalFire to lift the burn ban, starting Friday of this week. I fear they're a little optimistic; the rain here so far is barely enough to knock the dust down.:confused2:

I did get an early start yesterday morning, and enjoyed the calm for the spraying. Most of it was with the hand wand, as I didn't want to put tire tracks in that nicely raked sand. Toward the end, I switched over to the boom and ran up the driveway to the road, and got the gate and fence up there sprayed. Didn't have a chance to do it last year because of the fire evacuation, and there's still a lot of dead vegetation up there. Went through 6 tanks/90 gallons of herbicide; sure hope this rain doesn't wash it all away.

Took another swing at rerouting the heater hoses under the dash of the van, and just couldn't get it done without leaving kinks in the hoses. Ran into town for some 90° elbows and more hose, and will take another shot at it today. By the time I got back, it was really windy and raining hard, and the temperature had dropped into the low 40s. Started the wood stove yesterday morning for the first time since last spring, and it sure felt good coming into a nice warm house from the garage. Think I picked up a splinter from the oak, though, as the tip of my index finger is telling me "ouch" every time it hits a key.

Happy Hump Day, folks!

Oh no! Picked a heck of a time for it, Randy, but looking on the bright side, it'll make it easier to follow doctor's orders tomorrow. Hope you're both feeling much better by T-Day!

36 degrees this morning, going for a high of 54. The cold front arrived. Now having gotten kind of lazy, and with a wife who likes to eat out, we told the kids we'd pay for all of us to go out for Thanksgiving dinner instead of cooking at home tomorrow. Of course most restaurants will be closed, so choices are limited. Cracker Barrel restaurants are open and will be so crowded, you need to get there early and expect a long wait. And then some folks, such as me, with bad hearing can't hear anything in there because of the noise and bad acoustics. So this year, we decided that tomorrow we'll go to a Golden Corral that's open tomorrow. Now the only thing wrong with that is that it's 40 miles from here and the current weather forecast . . . . . 80% chance it'll be raining. Oh, well, you can't have everything the way you want it.
