71°F and .02 inches rain.
Guess I’d be fibbin if I said hearing from Toyota wasn’t foremost on my mind. Need to go to town, but prefer just a single trip - to pickup truck.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Instead of deserved jail time senior management probably will get pay increases and increased stock options. which will then 鍍rickle down to the politicians. :mad:

A high PG&E muckety muck held a retreat for the gas division executives at some posh resort at exactly the same time that the blackouts hit, and this week, he was fired. I don't know if they were just making an example of him, or if it signals a shift in management culture. I sure hope it's the latter. Or maybe it's because he didn't keep the event quiet, and once the press caught on, the witch hunt was on.

".... Need to go to town, but prefer just a single trip - to pickup truck."- David I/We really dislike those multiple trips to town. For us it's a +48 mile round trip between here and the closest "Big Cities."

RNG- I hope it is a + shift in corporate culture rather than doing the + thing out of fear of - litigious outcomes for current and past actions. I read that at least one person has died as a consequence of loss of power. :( I hope that he is/was the only one, And PG&E executive 'talking heads" will probably place blame on the victim(s).:mad:

45 miles north of me is North Bay, ON, that is the closest city to me. I go there once a month for the monthly big shopping trip. The other three weeks in a month I shop locally.

That's a nasty long distance for essential supplies. There used to be a couple of closer, decent, small Mom & Pa grocery/convenience stores where we could buy food, feed, etc.; but most are out of business or soon to be out of business due to age and/or the local economies. :(

Farmer that rents our land came by this morning to pay this years rent.. had good crops this year, but the weather turned before they got all the wheat harvested.. too much moisture content now so they will have to leave it. He said they will try and disc it this fall (too heavy to plow), then disc again in spring and summer, probably summer fallow it.. I think he said he has about 200acres he was not able to harvest, $50k loss.

The weeds were bad for many of the local farmers this year, our field had peas, was sprayed twice and still have thistles. He worked it and then planted winter wheat, hope the weather warms enough for it to come up.

My pickup had intermittent codes, stabilitrac was one, before replacing any parts, I checked wiring from each wheel sensor, all good to harness under hood, traced harness to top of engine under plastic cover, removed cover and found mouse nest, cleaned it out, found several wires had been chewed, one nearly gone. I repaired wiring and cleared codes, all good since. As I typed this, I never checked under the engine cover on wife's Tahoe that is intermittently throwing stabilitrac errors.. guess I better have a look after while..

Seems a number of years ago, the insulation on the wires was changed to soy based instead of petroleum based, rodents like it. You can buy tape with deterrent in it (which I did after I repaired the truck wiring, but have not put it on..)

Here's an article to give everyone not involved a bit of a chuckle;

FORT EDWARD — Washington County employees arrived to work on Wednesday to find a malodorous situation as a skunk invaded Building B of the Municipal Center complex overnight and apparently became quite perturbed.

County workers were ripping up carpet and airing out the building Wednesday morning after a nuisance wildlife expert was brought in to locate and capture the invader.

Will get hired as a consultant at double pay.
