good morning all. Cool morning, showers today, only a high in mid 70's.
Today is day landscaper and I do tree work and then move implements, but I won't cut wood in the rain,
too dangerous for slips, particularly when it can wait.

Bill, nice to hear from you. Glad you had a good summer.

61 and windy going to 66. Seems like a storm without the wet part outside right now. No skunks today.

Sorry to hear of your challenges, Ted. Hope things come together for you.

Hawkeye, wish I could come help you with the deck.

I changed the oil on my truck yesterday. Last time I changed it, I couldn't break free the plug screw on the oil filter housing. You guys gave me some good ideas, and I got it loose yesterday. I don't have a garage, so I change it on the gravel driveway...while I was lying there dropping the skid plate, I got to thinking that next time I change it, it will likely be very cold and maybe snow there.

Been so dry I haven't mowed in a month or started up the tractor. I wanted to mow everything one more time before changing the oil on the ZTR, but may go ahead and change it this week.

A couple of weeks ago I used Google maps, as a test, to tell me how far a hiking trail was and how long they said it would take to hike. Then today I brought up a car trip of a couple hundred miles and was shocked when it said it would take 277 hours...I then noticed it was still in pedestrian mode.

Thomas, you are getting off on a busy start to retirement.

50 degrees this morning, absolute perfect temperature as far as I'm concerned, but going for a sunny 80. Some have posted recently about health insurance, and I've been reading, phoning, and talking the last week or so to insurance folks myself. I'm so old that I can remember when you didn't have to research, hope for the best, etc. We used to only have one decision to make that was to "take it or leave it". One plan only. Ahhh, for the simple life. Anyway, I still have health insurance through the City of Dallas; great insurance, terribly expensive. But now that will end the end of this year. Nothing but 2 "Advantage" plans will be available. So I spent more than an hour on the phone yesterday with some very nice ladies getting signed up for next year. The deadline for getting signed up is in 2 weeks.

Winter will be over before we know it.

NO NO NO, say it is not true, we have been waiting all Summer for Winter.

Good morning! A wonderful 58˚F but heading to 83˚F with the short tease of a cold front fading fast.

We are heading into Indian territory in the trail blazing group. There are old rock burn mounds and arrow heads made from Georgetown Blue.
Georgetown Flint comes from the Cretaceous Austin limestone/Chalk on the eastern edge of the Edwards plateau in the vicinity of Georgetown, Texas. The Georgetown material occurs in a narrow range of grayish colors, of which the steel-blue/grey glassy translucent variant known as "Georgetown Blue" is the highest quality for knapping. In fact itç—´ probably one of the best quality materials anywhere in North America and is highly sought after.

We used the new Kubota utility vehicle that converts from a large dump bed to a small bed and two forward facing seats and a JD with a shredder and a spotter. The spotter is the one that goes in front of the brush hog removing large rocks and wire - (that would be me) - not seat but feet time. But being experience in untangling wire from a brush hog blade from country life I know my job was the most important.

Fire Wise community meeting this morning with official type fire people from the City and State. This afternoon the hearing aid people at Costco will program my hearing aids to pick up the T-Cell frequency which is in the buildings here in the neighborhood and a lot of public building.

Sadomo good thought on the filter, thats #1 in the trouble shooting and it is fine and running good in the in the door water supply after the filter. The filter is only 2 months old also. We change it out every 6 months. But I think it's too late, instead of starting to change out parts to see which one is faulty we went looking at larger refrigerators yesterday. The way we eat we need one with more room for produce anyway. I do not think we need a refrigerator that writes a grocery list and sends it to your phone.
