Go back and look you said 3.C under dry conditions.
FL 40 non existent, but you said 40MASL. That acronym is meters above sea level. Once you get above 18,000’ (FL180)it changes to flight levels which eliminates variations in altimeter settings, they all use 29.92 that keeps the spacing equal, plus those are all IFR flights. Altitude and flight levels are two different things. Altitude is expressed with either MSL or AGL. So to clarify 35000’ is a flight level and is expressed as FL three five zero, not 35.
My so bad! Forget I mentioned anything at all about airplanes, etc.
Just suffice it to say, all things being equal, as you go up hill, the temp will drop, and at 40,000FT altitude, it will be wicked cold.

So quick glowplug update: with 6F this AM and cleaning up after 17" fresh snow. Tractor started 2nd try....first 35 seconds on preheat no joy but then another 35 and it took off. I am still suspect of the plugs, but evidently they do work, somewhat. My current plan is to wait until winter is over and then tackle replacement. While the WSM makes it sound super easy and quick [1)remove power lead and strip, 2) remove plugs], they fail to state a ton of other items, (hood, air cleaner, and other various and sundry parts) must be removed and be out of the way just to reach the 2 items stated. So here is praying the worst of the worst cold weather is either past or no more snow storms at temps below 20F. Still seems to start easy and first try above that temp.

Understand other folk really got hammered with snow. My nephews daughters, at college, reported 34" down in Annandale On Hudson, NY, about 90 miles north of NYC.

I had to remove loader, hood and a few smaller parts. 3 were very easy to replace, but 1 proved very challenging. This was on a Kioti though. The shop manual helped, but didn’t show the hard to reach one.

Same old thing, if the designer had to work on it likely things would be different.

I ran into the same thing trying to replace temp sensor on a generac generator. The original sensor is installed while engine is split during assembly. But after it’s assembled the oil filter housing is in the way of reaching half of the screws. What a stupid design.
