I wish my tub was THAT clean!! The only time I have fluid mess is when changing filters other than when both front wheel motors broke.
Have you tried the paper towels and zip lock bag method for changing the hydraulic filter?

That was right after drastic cleaning to locate the leaks. It doesn't look like that now, unfortunately.

I clean the area as best I can, lay down some paper towels under the filter, barely crack the filter loose, then slip a quart-size ziplock bag up over the filter. Then remove the filter. Keeps things pretty clean. I'll always get a few drips, but that's on the paper towels.

I do pretty much the same, using your idea for the ziplock with the addition of a small plastic pan under the filter and bag to catch the drips. It's an old precooked chicken tray that is flexible enough, fits, and seems immune to oil. I think I've been using the pan for at least ten years.

Thanks for sharing the tip; I think of you every time I change the filter.

All the best,

Peter

I already think of cookies and milk during almost any task, so why not chicken? For that matter, my stomach is growling now, just talking about it. I can smell the rotisserie section at the store as I type. We're having meat loaf tonight. These pistachios aren't cutting it. Gotta go!

I remember reading how to cook baked potatos on car engine manifolds during a trip so probably possible to bake some chicken while mowing.
