Hi all, I've searched the forum and cant find an answer. I have the new hose on the rad outlet but cannot get the other end to go on to the engine. Do I have to unbolt the rad and lift it up so the hose will just come down onto it? Should I heat it up first? Yes, I put lube on it lol.

Assuming it's the correct hose, what I do is put the end of the hose in boiling water for a minute. It softens and expands it a wee bit.
Quick lube and slide it on. Use gloves as that hose end will be hot. Works for me.

i second that idea,i use dawn liquid soap on the inside of hose so it slips on easily.

I have never tried, heating the hose, What I would do first is try putting it on the rad first, I use soapy water as a lubricant, in a spray bottle.
I also use it on the hose when I put the clam on it alows the clamp to slide a bit and tighten evenly around the hose,
Just a thought!

I ended up boiling it for a few minutes and bending it in half, it was still an SOB to get on though.

It's the right one, very short and 90 degree bend, makes puttin on difficult!

Like the others have said..."soap it up and/or warm it up". Since short hoses are usually very difficult to install, I always try to put the water pump (WP) side on first. Make sure the WP and radiator nipples are clean and free of any old hose residue and/or sealers and index it properly to the radiator/WP before you slide it onto the WP. Even so, it can still be a bear putting on.
