Why do you say that the ductwork needs altering? Just curious, as it doesn't seem obvious to me why. (The house needs X thousand BTUs/day, whether or not it comes from oil / gas/ heat pump, right?)
Heat pumps do not make 100°F hot air the way furnaces do. Heat pump needs large volumes of air which will be raised in temperature but never blows scalding hot.

I dont even feel the air coming out of my vents.

If you have a habit of wanting to stand over a vent to feel "hot" air to get warmed.....neither heat pump nor geothermal is gonna give that "feel". If my t-stat is set at 70° and my vents are moving 1600cfm of 85°- 90° air....Im perfectly okay with that. Its doing exactly what its supposed to do
