George White snow blower

I have an 87 inch George White snow blower, does anyone know what RPM they are suppose to run at, 550 or 1000 RPM
The unit is new to me, I changed it out from an 87 inch Shulte.
The Shulte had a 3 blade fan where the GW has a 4 blade fan .
The Shulte was 550RPM and blew snow 40-50 feet without any problem.
The George White running 2000 rpm on the tacK just moves the snow 10 feet at the most
Ant ideas??

I assume that this is a used snow blower. Check the clearance between the fan and the fan casing - it shouldn't be too much. I would think that a clearance of 1/16" or 1mm would be more than sufficient. If the clearance is excessive, it might be worth adding some thick rubber wipers to the blades. A piece of reinforced conveyor belt would be perfect for this.
Easier to try running the blower at 1000rpm if your tractor can turn that fast - do you have dual speed PTO ? I have a Allied Farm King blower that is a 540rpm unit. I mostly run it at 720rpm (I have the two PTO speeds). It really pumps the snow through at that speed.

Thanks for the quick reply, from one end of the country to the other end.
The fan housing is pretty tight, you suggest 1/16 of an inch , Without measuring I've got at least 3/16 of an inch but only from the 12 oclock position to the 6 oclock position , the rest is wide open to the shute exit.
I'll probably try the rubber or (teflon ) first then change over to 1000 rpm.
By going on line there do not seem to be very many George White blowers around.
Should have stayed with the Shulte!

That clearance sound pretty good to me and you won't get anything less than you have at the exit side of the blower fan.
If it is available, conveyor belting say 3/8" would work well. You obviously need to make the pieces the exact same size and drill the holes for bolts in the same pattern, for balancing of fan blade. On my blower I used some steel plates bolted to the fan and it has worked well - my fan blades were well worn and been built up by welding by previous owner.
