Trying to figure out what is going on with the garage door openers in my northside barn...Monday there was a severe thunderstorm with lightning strikes as close as a quarter mile, but nothing really hit near here. No power loss either, but when I went out to check on my barn about 150' from the house, neither door opener would work from the remote controls. One opener is a 1989 vintage Stanley, it has two pushbuttons inside but neither pushbutton will operate it, if I unplug it from the outlet it will cycle through an opening or closing cycle, but not respond to either remote nor the pushbuttons. The second opener is a 1994 vintage Craftsman, the pushbutton will open and close it about 6" but it stops after that 6" travel and the remote will not work at all.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Years ago a big lightening strike about 150' from our house and garage took out two openers. Both needed new circuit boards--which was just a bit less than our deductible. That strike fried about every electronic item in the neighbor's house which was maybe 75' away. It was one of those ka-boom things that make you jump about 5 feet.
