garden tractor loader

/ garden tractor loader #11
Just a few more points to make...on my machine, that is a light materials bucket, appropriate for mulch or snow, rather than heavy stuff like loam or gravel. Works pretty good for that if I only fill it half full. This limit is imposed by what the tractor can handle, not the loader itself. With fluid in the tires and another #200 on the back, it could probably handle it. Without, those ag tires just spin and dig holes. When I started, mulch and snow were what I expected to be using it for...before it was even built, the wife was like "so if I order some loam..."

System pressure is 1000 psi which is enough to get work done with 1-1/2" cylinders on that size machine. 800psi wasn't quite enough. Pump is 2gpm which is just enough, and even then there is a flow control on the main lift so it is more controlled. It can be adjusted from the seat if needed. Currently the lift is single acting (gravity down). I actually have double acting cylinders to make it power down, but that will require changing the mounts so haven't yet. (the valve is already set up for it, the 2nd port redirects to tank).

And if I had to do it again, I would find a way to not have the valve bank against me knee and the pump underfoot...that stuff gets quite warm after running for a bit. If I ever use it to move snow, I'd probably appreciate it. On hot summer days appropriate for dirt work, not so much.
