Snow yesterday morning, rain in the afternoon and today. Snow is melting fast.
I don't plan on painting the underneath side, nobodies going to slide under it to look at it anyway. Plus, rust can be a rust preventative. Bluing on a firearm is just an advanced form of rust. As long as it is kept oiled and dry it won't rust more. I will just spray a bunch of oil under it and it will be good to go.
I will spray it several times this week then let the paint cure for several days. Then haul it home and install the turret, ram, knuckle and head. Then I will start on the knee next. After that, the saddle and table. Shouldn't take more than another couple months.
Maybe some day I will put heat in the shop but it isn't that big of deal to me until it gets below zero. It has an overhead oil heater in it but I had the oil tank removed a couple years ago. Natural gas is plumbed to the shop so it is a matter of converting the heater to gas. Maybe someday when I get old I may need the heat.
You criticize the lack of mountain scenery in my pictures? I looked and looked in your pictures for a hint of a mountain, couldn't find one. Couldn't even find a decent hill. You must have been busy with your tractor, knocked them all down.
I looked for some pictures showing more of the mountains but I don't have much. Here is what I could find.
Putting up a swing set for the grandkids, shows the east mountains. These top out at around 9,000 to 10,000 feet.
This one is at work, shows the west hills.
