What is the difference between FX and YM Yanmars?

Ken said the simple answer. Contact a dealer on here like Ernie and he can totally tell you. I personally like the simplicity of a geared YM and the ease to work on it. The FX has a bigger work area to sit in and has things like front axle disconect and remotes and tons of other stuff.

One of those ernie just posted was a Ym 2002 with i think ~750 hours!!

I don't understand why so many imports are 'rebuilt'.

For another recent thread I looked up the answer for a poster, and incidentally also found what might be the record on here for a high-hour Yanmar:

In this old thread a member said his YM2200 had 11,443 hrs. on it before he had to rebuild it.

I found out yesterday just how old my YM336D is.. the serial # is #00330. The 330th ever made. It might as well be an experimental model, haha.

I'd trade for an FX any day. YMs may be easy to work on, but avoiding the broken down tractors completely sounds better.
