Looking for expert help on my newly acquired Yanmar FX-26D. (Please be patient since I am new to tractoring). It’s a 4x4 but I can’t seem to get the front wheels engaged. There is a small foot pedal on the right floorboard which indicates up for 2WD and down for 4WD. I was working with this all day trying to get into 4WD, with no luck. I tried all combinations, in gear, in neutral, moving, stopped. I can push the pedal down in all these cases but the front drive still does not engage. I am sure of this because I got stuck several times with the back tires spinning and the front tires doing nothing. Sometimes the pedal stays down and most of the time I have to actually hold it down (to keep it down). But, even when it is held down, the front drive is not engaging. It is a completely reconditioned machine and I was told that the 4WD worked OK prior to delivery. Am I missing something here, or doing something wrong? Am I activating the correct lever/pedal to engage 4WD? There is a small lever just to the left of this pedal also on the right side of the tractor that is not labeled. Is that part of the 4WD system. I do not have a manual so have no other reference for what all the levers are used for. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
