When mounting your tractor how many of you run the shift lever up your pants leg when wearing shorts or get it caught on your saw chaps strap ?
Or is it just me ?

The only time this happens to me is if the range selector is in low range (HST). If I go out the right (incorrect) side of the tractor I run into the loader joystick, also not a happy experience.
I also have a bad habit of hitting the PTO switch with my knee when getting on the tractor. This can be exciting if the tractor is running and the brush hog is hooked up.

98 Lbs is good weight for 4' 11".
If it weren't for your Marine training I'd bet my mom could take ya:laughing:

Where is this real estate located?

It's water front just outside of Joshua Tree, California...

It connects to Lake Bandini..

Only a Marine that has visited the area would understand that joke..

That kind of leaves me out then.

I did however get this patch when I was on the swimming team there.
Nice area, if you don't mind the olfactory stimulus.

I have to be real careful getting in and out of my Kawasaki Mule due to the emergency hand brake lever that is mounted at my left thigh. Tripped it once climbing out and just happened to be on a grade-the Mule is not a geared machine so the transmission has no effect in these matters. Managed to grab the lever as the Mule was rolling by me.

Yup, you are not alone.
Something to keep in mind when others are around the FEL, or something in or hanging on the bucket. :)

Add me to this group. I catch the PTO lever or gear shifter.

   / FUNNY QUESTION #11
Nope, just the PTO selector on my 2660 and 2305 when dismounting, I use cabbed units for everything else and I have to turn around and back out.

   / FUNNY QUESTION #12
I broke the PTO selector clear off of my 2305.

I allways wondered why they made it so long.

Not my trouser leg...but on my 670 and 790 (gear shift lever just in front of the seat), I frequently caught a boot or shoe lace on that shift lever.

Run tractor mostly nude. Don't have those problems. Only when bush hogging this time of year do I suit up with hat and netting, as protection against the bugs. My sweat pants don't hang up on anything.

   / FUNNY QUESTION #16
Ooooohhh, ya, used to do it on my old 790 all the time. That was a bad place to put a shift lever on such a small platform. I don't think I will have this problem on the new 5055D. More platform room and no shift lever right in the middle.

   / FUNNY QUESTION #17
I've done it twice on the transmission range lever on the 2520, bad enough to completely rip the leg of the shorts all the way to the crotch. Very nearly fell flat on my face (but by some miracle, didn't).

Was VERY glad the machine has an interlock to shut the engine down, or I might have been both embarassed AND dead from being run over.

On the plus side, I will have to say that I was impressed that the range lever didn't bend or break, even with my lard-***** hanging from it....

   / FUNNY QUESTION #18
My 3400DT has a pretty cluttered floor, it's a pain getting on and off when it's in 2nd or 4th, 1st and 3rd will be the first gears to wear out I'm thinking.
