It's getting cold and my tractor is another year older. I discovered last year that the thermostart plug is non-functional and I'd like to have a way to improve cold weather starting. Should I get a new thermostart, or install a block heater? There is a threaded frost plug on my block and I think it would be a pretty simple install. Which is more durable? Both will cost about $50, and I like the idea of having the entire engine warm on startup. Tractor is almost always parked indoors near electricity. Is there anyone who has both and prefers one over the other?

I thought someone might say that...probably not a bad idea, but I'm getting some other parts from Hoye and was trying to keep costs down. We're in a recession, you know.:D Thanks for the input.

I have both and both work but the block heater is by far the best but Id still get the TS working just in case you dont have juice for some unseen reason. my .02
