Oil & Fuel fuel return line ?

hello all ,
on my ym165d engine running should i have any fuel flowing through the
return line to tank . no fuel runs at idle or high idle . i am new to gravity feed
diesel systems and was just wondering . tractor runs fine other than that thanks for all help

Yes.

Excess fuel not consumed by the injectors will feed the remainder to the tank.

Many models with thermostart option will fill the small reservoir before returning the excess fuel to the return line.
