Anyone have options for suitcase weights, or other ways to add weight to the front of a 4R series tractor that is equipped with a loader?

I wanted more weight on front probably 5 years ago, found some suitcase weights for my Kubota on CL and was very happy, until I went to move some snow and discovered that I could not lower my FEL all the way down without hitting the weights. I almost modified the loader but decided not to. Since then, we have paved our driveway and I use a walk behind snow blower to clear it.

I don't think it would be too hard to make a custom mount for some weights, but for me, factory stuff did not play nice together.

If you're having to spend money on weights, personally I'd put that money toward a grapple.

That brings up a new question, glad you mentioned it. I nearly forgot that I ordered a 4-in-1 bucket, awaiting arrival. Wonder how much more it weighs than the normal bucket?

Not sure. I think 72" bucket on my tractor weighs somewhere around 250 lbs, maybe 300. Add extra cylinders, cutting edges, hinges, gussets...likely over 100 lbs extra as a WAG.

Couldn't find the weight of the regular bucket, so you filled in that blank.

I saw on some site that the 4-in-1 weighs 425lbs.

Perhaps that extra weight far forward will be enough to give extra ballast for the front when I have that heavy MX8 on the back.

If not, thinking about foam filling the front tires.

I would go outback and get a bucket full of dirt and maybe wet it down with the garden hose. I'm guessing you don't have a place like that in your farmyard??
