CK30 Is it jus a matter of removing the four pins holding the bucket to the arm
to remove the bucket.

Well there is also the level indicator linkage, but essentially that is it, yes.

I swap my bkt for custom forks now-and-then. I don't go for a QA
system like a skidsteer cuz that would reduce lifting capacity.

Yep, I am making my own QA. I have been swapping my bucket and forks for 6 mos. now. What a pain :(

When I built this fork frame, I decided not to use the KL130's bucket links.
This limited the amount of curl angle I could get and the dump angle is less
than ideal at high boom positions. If I did it over again, I would use the
links.

Photo shows my max lift, 1400 lb of ceramic tile on a pallet, plus the 180
lb of the fork frame. I could only lift ablut 4' high.

Very nice forks!

Are there any forks you can buy that fit right on to the KL130 with the bucket off? I do have the chain on types and they work, but...

Thats a very interesting pic dfkrug, if that k130 loader is only rated at 1155lbs to max height, and your lifting 1500-1600 lbs to 4 ft, perhaps that loader is more capable then previously thought. I hear alot of arguements from another brand dealer here and from what he states thats not possible. That load you have there must extend close to 4 feet out from your pivot point...

I believe the 1155# number. At max height, the KL130 generates much
less leverage around the boom pivot point. I have maxed out the lift
of my loader numerous times....this time I could easily determine the weight
of my load. The load in the photo is only an inch or so higher than my
PU bed and I could not go higher.

Mike:
I do not know of a pallet fork vendor who sells one that pins on to the
KL130, but I will bet they DO exist as this loader is out there in significant
#s. There are also pallet forks you can buy with uncommitted pin-on
brackets. My issue with most of the pallet fork attachments is that they
are often 400-500lb or more and often cost over $600 + shipping. BTW the
other CK30 I bought in 05 is used by a guy who uses clamp-on forks. He
has punctured the inside bottom of his bucket with them.

punctured the bucket? wow, i bet it bent it a bit first.

What happens is that the clamp-on forks clamp to the inside carcass of
the bkt, which is only 1/8" thick steel. It flexes under stress and eventually
cracks from metal fatigue. The KL130 bkt is well designed with strengthened
sides and top lip, but it was not designed to take this kind of stress on the
thin inner carcass of the bkt. I have seen other clamp-on forks that do
a better job of spreading out the clamp stress.

Overall, I have been satisfied with this loader and I am happy to report that
none of the 3 Kiotis I bought new have had any loader cross tube cracking.

So if you raise a pallet to dock height and then get out and load that pallet with weight such as tiles. Will the loader sink after you reach a certain weight? I understand and have experienced the max lift ability but what about the other way? Can you overload the loader that way?
