Guess that's right, Robj. The good stuff is rarely cheap. But it's up to us to get our money's worth of it. Seems like Raddad did that and then some.

It appears the tractor alone runs about the same as a decent economy car from the same time period. 20 or 30 years later, the car is only a memory, but the Kubota's still working and worth most of what you paid for it.

Where's the Firebird now?

That old B7100 made my boys about $6,000 a year when they were in high school and college mowing, rototilling and lansccaping. I can sell it for close to what I paid for it 20 some years ago. I would be hard pressed to find another investment that good. Pluse my boys learned something making their own money.

I went from a B7200 to a B7510. Similar transition to what you did. I, too, get my pants leg hung on the left controls. I also like the power steering and gas gauge. There was no way I could get the pins in to raise the mower deck when I was using the 3-point. The B7200 system was simple and right out where I could see it. So . . . I replaced the pins with what I think are called C clamp pins. The pin slips in and a clamp closes over the other side. Much easier to use and inexpensive. Things I don't like about the B7510 are (1) the rear PTO turns when the MMM is engaged, something the dealer said is normal; (2) the tendency of the rear turf tires to spin when making turns in 2WD; (3) the cut of the finish mower. The B7200 was far superior. BTW, I tried a BX 2200 for a year in between the two tractors. Was very disappointed in it and traded it for the B7510. At that point in time, Kubota had not mastered the floating/suspended deck. BTW, for snow plowing, my old rear Woods blade works great. The FEL can be handy at times, but most of the time, it just sits in the barn.

If I am wearing shorts the levers get caught when I get off the tractor too especially on the passenger side. It wiped me out once already. Now I just use the driver’s side because the levers are in a different position there

On my B3030, I have to get off the LEFT side with shorts on, or I am left dangling like a side-hooked fish from the 3ph lever, which I almost always lower before getting off.

organ grinder: I haven't used the rear PTO on my B7500 for about two years, so I had to check today to verify that it does turn with the MMM engaged. It does. However, my rear PTO came with a plastic cover, so I had to remove the cover (with the engine not running) before I could even see the PTO shaft. Do you have the PTO cover? If not, you might want to get one.
