Now compare your pic to the one of the LS. Look how much more paint you have in your bucket. Not picking on ya. Just saying the LS has done considerably more FEL work than your Massey, regardless of hours on the clock. Which gets back to my earlier statement. I'm historically interested in the tractor's daily life work than whether it had the front axle fluids changed in a timely manner.

You're not wrong of course ... mine is still pretty new. And we won't know what kind of hours that LS has unless I slide back over there and check... But then again, I've seen tractors with 2000 hrs that looked showroom new compared to that LS. Cosmetics are cosmetics, I get it ... but often, and this is a complete generalization, outer care is indicative of internal care.

It was the DMV tractor and that's what you get when the road crew use it.

I totally agree with ya. I don't make my living with my tractor. I support my farm with it. If I was hiring out, bidding work, I'd probably be harder on my tractor. Just human nature.

Update: stopped back by the dealer today and snapped a few more pics. Looks like it was used by an asphalt company or something, the rear is coated! What a mess. Oh, and only 563 hours!

And by the tires, I'd say the hour meter is correct.

I actually work for an asphalt company and can attest to the way tractors and loaders are used on the job. We normally use full sized JD backhoes or skid steers, but some companies do use smaller CUTs with a box blade. A loader bucket without a replaceable cutting edge has no chance of lasting on an asphalt job. Lots of cutting, pushing, and back dragging on existing asphalt is **** on a bucket. Tractors and loaders are a must for loading and unloading trailers, hopper for the paver, which explains something being dropped across the hood. Probably a tough little tractor, but it would never keep up with our operation. Probably used for a smaller parking lot/driveway operation, which is still a tough job for a small CUT. If so, this poor guy has seen a good bit of loader work.
