Massey 1652 HST Cab
Stopped by my local Massey/Kioti dealership (VanPaemel Equipment) and found this poor abused tractor in one if the used rows.

Any one of you guys recognize this old girl, or know who abused her sooo badly?

wouldn't want to pay much for that unit, I imagine they mistreated the insides of the tractor just as bad. why abuse something that cost you big dollars when you first bought it? bet he didn't get much of a trade in allowance.

Yeah no kidding. I'm assuming my dealer picked it up at an auction. According to the phone number on the loader, it came from Florida.

Ouch! That pains me to see.

Other then the hood, the machine doesn't look to bad. A lot of hoods get smashed on machines with fel's from operators letting stuff roll off rear of bucket.

Maybe I'm not seeing the whole machine but from the pic all I see is the hood damage.

No, thing looks rough. Lots of dings & dents, scratches, rust ... been rode hard.

I love the front end guard. Has a small kink to it.

The brush guard should have a vertical bar ... That looks cut off.

I would wonder if it was a rental?

If it has low hours I would say definite abuse. I agree it looks about you would find on a rental.

I think you guys are being too hard on the previous owner. Look at the FEL bucket. Is the paint missing from you guy's buckets like that??? I'm gonna guess 90% will say no. This tractor has been used a LOT of hours doing heavy FEL work. And with all that use the lip of the bucket appears to still be straight. I'd say the guy has been pretty gentle on it for as many hrs as it's been used.

As Murph said, the hood is just a flesh wound. My Brother dented his hood the first day he used his new tractor.

". My Brother dented his hood the first day" That's called gaining experience and breaking in.

That's why I don't buy new Trucks anymore cause you worry about scratching the bed. Now I just hope I don't break a window out throwing wood in the bed.

Well nobody said that an LS tractor is not up to hard work.

They sure never. :)

I'm shopping for a 40-60HP tractor. My questions are more toward what the tractor has done for a living in it's previous life than some "flesh wounds" as Murph calls em.

Damaged body work wouldn't bother me on a used machine. Just gives you some wiggle room on the price. If the maintenance was done and the machine works well, you may get a good deal on that tractor.
And yes, it saves me the heartache of doing the first damage to a "perfect" tractor. Kind of like the previous poster mentioned. You can't really use your truck until the bed is scratched or dented.

I don't know fellas, I've worked my tractor how as hard as anyone I know. I've put 358 hours on this tractor in the last 10 months. Yes, I've added a few scratches and dents. But nothing like what this tractor has been through. But, I take pride in ownership of my equipment so I try to take excellent care of it. now, I didn't see how many hours this tractor had on it, & I don't know how old it is, though it can't be older than a couple years.

If a machine looks this rough on the outside, especially at this age, it makes me worry about what kind of treatment its had on the inside.

Of course there are always exceptions to the rule, but it would still scare me, & I still feel bad for this old girl , whatever she's been through.
