If Bob truly frequents Pirate4x4 he is laughing as well. If not then he's a pretender!!! :p

Isn't that the truth! Pirate is my point-to-default when someone thinks any forum is too harsh. Start a thread with anything resembling a question...and let the fun begin...

Not hard to see who is willing to give courtesy a chance, and who insists on being a richard.:D

What I'm suggesting uncle T. is that anyone that's tempted to run off whining to the babysitter or by default crying foul on the open forum about some slight whether intended or not, they should go out and experience some real life for a change if they feel badly about how someone receives or responds to them here.

If you want to be a whiner there's a good one going on or was about the new fuel can spouts. Try that one.
On the other hand uncle t. if you're looking for an argument I'm more than willing to accommodate.

Oh ... I don't think that's necessarily always true ... for example:

One could have a situation where a simple act that could be considered "friendly" is done privately where no one can see ... and it's met with the indifference of no response ...

In that case it might be hard for anyone except the two persons involved to see who's actually being the richard and who isn't ...

I once heard a fellow opine that some folks make it hard to turn the other cheek ...

I guess I missed the part where it was written that "turning the other cheek" was supposed to "easy" ...

The thread reminded me of this cartoon.

Hi Sam or whoever... sorry to see you go! Believe it or not this site is the most respectful of the forums I have participated in. Yes there are a few bad apples and sometimes even well meaning posts can be taken wrong. It is a difficult thing to communicate the written word. No way to tell the mood or whether it is in jest or whatever. That said, my guess is that the vast majority here are great people who mean well. Some can't express as well as others, and some have far more experience than others, but that is what makes this place what it is. Good luck to you and I am sorry you feel this way. I hope you are not basing your decision to 'leave' on one OP or thread. But you do have to have a bit of thick skin here for those who just don't get it.

Personally, I am grateful for this site and the expertise, insight, and humor of others. I hope I have contributed at least my fair share! :2cents:

Well said. To the OP (if you are still reading)-sorry to see you go. It's the diversity of opinions in this group that makes it interesting. I always like to think of this site like a discussion around the lobby of an old general store.

Have a good day!

Frank, I always refer to it as the round table at the local truck stop or cafe.

Secondly, if you guys don't quit using my name in vain I'm gonna go off whining to the corner.... :D

If you want to read some offensive stuff: Craigslist.com Rants and Raves. Some of it is downright scary.

The man makes a better case for what I said than I ever could! :D

Sorry, Richard, now that the dicks have floated to the top, I won't use your name in vain again. At least until next time.:D

Who is it exactly are you referring to Bob ? ... is that simply a cultural thing ... just part of that good old "Southern civility" ?

Up here in the North, we would consider 'Bob' leaving names out of this thread a sign of good manners. I suppose if someone followed him here to :stirthepot: we'd be guessing who it was, erelong.

Personally, I'd be flattered if someone was .. well .. stalking me.
