It's been some time now :

So, what were you postin' about back then?

It's been some time now but you might remember when someone accused me of hiding behind my computer screen and spewing hateful things from the anonymity of the Internet. It apparently didn't occur to the person to look a couple of inches to the left where my full name and city & province of residence are listed...

Taken in the abstract, that might just be a good illustration of how anyone could let their own preconceived ideas and assumptions prevent actual observations ...

I don't have any photos of myself so I had to do the next best thing and find a pic of someone on the net who came the closest to resembling the handsome dude that i am.

Here's all my previous posts in this thread. Perhaps you can explain what exactly you find to be "nasty" in each and every one of them.

Why should rswyan not question certain assertions made about forum courtesies in a thread labeled " Forum Courtesy"?

Ahhh, I see. The first poster gets a pass while anyone responding to it is automatically at fault cause that's "confrontational". Got it.

While you are at it, and since you've included jerrybob with rswyan and I, explain what you find to be "nasty" about his singular post in this thread.

Complaining about courtesy is good for you as long as you're not complaining to the people you're complaining about.:thumbsup:

Mace, I can see that you expect comments to flow from related facts and reality. Nope, I don't think that is the way it works for some people. Nor can they see or admit that their personal invective is unwarranted or unsupported.

BTW, do you consider it at all hypocritical (or cowardly) for someone to resort to attempting to smear someone else ... all while not being forthright and honest enough to actually name their intended target ?

Does that seem at all underhanded to you ?

Or is that simply a cultural thing ... just part of that good old "Southern civility" ?

A great show it was. I was kind of disappointed that they let the franchise continue after "A **** river runs through it". I wish they would have let everyone live happily ever after.

Didn't see this thread due to seat time with 14 inches of snow (yes, SNOW!) this week.

I am sad to see OP feel that way & go. I want you guys to know, as a newbie, this is the first web group I have signed up for, and it was because of the gracious (and fun) knowledge you were willing to share.

The other sites I have visited seemed far more vitriolic to me. This site is fun, interesting & always something new & different to be learned. A real fraternity.

I rather doubt it ... since I didn't ...

Of course, it's hard to say what you actually "heard" ... if anything ...

I once "heard" from a guy that it was possible obtain BLS Employment Reports "early" ... before they were officially released.

Then I checked into it by researching it and contacting the particular party at the BLS who is actually responsible for doing the releases ... found out that that proposition was actually highly unlikely ... in fact, one could say it's pretty much near impossible.

Seems as though some want to carry a chip on their shoulders and introduce 'em wherever they can on TBN ...

I think a fair look would show that my posts in this thread have not been some origination out of the blue ... but a response to what others post. Might be as simple as recognizing who is the initiator ... and who is the respondent.
