Yes, they are great. I usually prefer working just tennons and nails/screws, but we used them when building a barn for a friend:

and I decided it is better to use them here too, than cutting a notch - besides my oldest helper is 10 years old

The Kids will love the place. The only thing I would do
is get a little more clearance around the tree to allow for
movement in high winds so it won't rack the building
