Anybody have an idea of what is acceptable for warpage on an 8n head? I'm in the process of rebuilding mine and I have over .005 gap between #3-4 cylinders and a little less between the other two. Problem is this head has already been milled once.

Soundguy will be along and he will know for sure what is allowed. How do you think you are warping it? Maybe to much metal was taken off the first time. On my 8n I am the third owner and it has never been apart, but it still has low hours.

I bought the tractor off a buddy of mine. It had been sitting for several years. He had parked is because it started knocking. The engine had been a rebuilt one he purchased and replaced. When I tore it apart the #4 rod had obliterated. Looks like maybe the pin had worked out of the rod. Scored the sleeve up pretty good. Any way, I was checking the head for warpage and it seems there is excessive clearance in the area between the cylinders. This head has already been milled from the looks of it. I think I am looking at a new head probably. It sounds like head warpage is pretty common on these heads.
