Ford 861
Just put new muffler and manifold on my 861, along with a carburator kit. Have issues now with it stalling out when increasing the throttle. Have done all adjustments that I can think of. Took the pipe off from the air breather to the carburator and gas poured out. Float appears to be adjusted correctly and does not appear to be leaking. Any help would be appreciated.

Most likely your float is not adjusted properly or is hanging up. If the float pivot is worn, the floats can rub on the fuel bowl. Give the carb a hard rap with a block of wood and see if it stops overfflowing. if that doesn't work you'll have to readjust the float. Jet adjustments can only be properly made if the float level is correct.

stalling out as you move the throttle up.

could be flooding or too lean. if lean it will pop and sputter, and a bit of choke will 'fix' it for the test. on the other hand.. choke won't help the flood.. so there's your go/no go test.
