could you perhaps post a bit mor einfo.. or actually state the problem you are having? so far we know you are having some issue with the starter.. is it not engaging with the key? or are you actually asking for an explanation of how the starter functions.. IE.. spinning and bendix/drive gear.. etc...??

I'm sorry .I need to find out how the fuel gets switched on and off is it electrically thereare two connections on the injector pump what do they do?Thankyou for your patience

if you see wires to a solenoid on the back of the IP they are almost deffinately a fuel stop solenoid for key/off operations.
follow your fuel line from tank to IP..
I'm not familiar with that machine.. but it should be clear what it goes thru.. IE.. electric fuel pump, mechanicl lift pump, and or sediment or water seperators and filter heads.
post back what you find.

ps... this new of a machine question is likely better handled by user RickB or Whodat. I'm an 'old' ford guy.. if it's late 70's it's kinda 'new' to me..
