Guess I forgot to post the pics, sorry.




Part of the shock is still stuck on the stud.




Went to the middle of the front axle.

though there may be many automotive "shocks" that may bolt up just fine. A steering damper application would very likely be valved for a much slower response time.

You may not notice the missing function of a damper just now, but run one wheel into a tree stump at a glancing angle and then report back.
I've had the wheel of the Fordson (manual steering) jerked around so violently as to sprain a thumb, while working in the woods.

That might very well be the reason for it! I believe it does kick out more with it missing than it did when it was hooked up. Thanks sir.

I know this is old, but I bent my Ford 1910 steering dampener on a stump.
Anyone have a replacement part link?
Ford implement said they no longer carry it, and when they did, it was $240.
