Ford 1700 front tires

Has anyone tried using automotive tires for the front tires on the Ford 1700 tractor? If so, what size tire/rim, any modifications necessary?

I did this on a 1040 MF tractor. The rims and tires were shot so I cut the rims off the original centers and welded some automotive rims onto the MF centers. Next went to the tire shop and found an automotive tire that was roughly the same dimensions and mounted them on the repaired rims. Customer saved money and was happy.
