Thanks for posting the good clear pictures. I have a ford , similar, and hope I never have to see the insides of the engine. I did save your pics tho to a folder, so I would have them to view if needed.Glad it all worked out for you.Just curious about the gauge was it 1/4 inch pipe thread? If so, a T could be put into it, and a lone run to a gauge and still have the light.Similar to a car.

Just be careful with the "T" and associated fittings. I did that to my Ford 1100 and got out in the middle of a field when vibration decided to crack it. I simply mounted the guage just outside the block so the weight of it didn't help. Running a stainless steel tubing or some other sort of vibration proof line (You are not going to get me to say copper line for this!) up to the dash and mounting the guage there would probably help.

The guage I finally found was one my brother had laying around, and it had metric threads. I tried to get a standard thread in there and it wouldn't work. I did that just to see what kind of pressure I had, not knowing if I had a problem other than the missing line. Now that I know I have sufficient oil pressure, and the oil tube fixed the problem, I will go back to the oil pressure sending unit/idiot light scenario. Glad this was of help, hopefully you all won't have to suffer the same problem.

Sandman, your right about the vibration effect. I had a 1965 Chevy in the 70's I was a kid, I got ahold of some used air shocks. used some copper tubing , and got it sitting pretty high.
Till, it decided to split from the vibration. LOL
The car looked like a low rider.
Funny how you don't really do much thinking when your a teenager.LOL
