I am looking into buying a toothbar for my B7100 with a 48" bucket for digging into embankments and brush/tree work. My dealer desribed one (didn't get the manufacturer's name) that bolts on the sides of the bucket and when the bolts are loosened up, it can flipped up and stored inside the bucket until you need it again. I think the price was around $300, not sure if it was a Kubota brand or not. Does anyone have any experience with a similar product? Also, are toothbars pretty much generic? Finally, any ideas where else to order a toothbar online? Thanks.

Do a forum search for toothbars. There's a wealth of info and lots of manufacturer's addresses to be had. This subject has been bled to death elsewhere in the forum.

The Markham Welding tool bars are pretty popular here and I think they mount that way and will flip up if needed.

I've got a Markham toothbar on my MX5000 and it does indeed fold. Very high quality, replacable teeth, and Melissa was a joy to work with. They kept me informed about the order and had it delivered to my door in three days.

You'll need to drill holes in the sides of the bucket and weld two 3" square plates (provided) onto the sides for reinforcement.

The toothbar makes all the difference when digging. I highly recommend it.

I had one one my other tractor that I sold along with the tractor. I just ordered a 6 foot one from Markham this morning. They used to ship FedX but now they went to UPS which is much cheaper. Got a price of $289 + shipping $34.00. She said it will be shipped out today and possibly be here by Friday. It really made a difference on my other tractor so once you,re spoiled you hate to do without the luxury of having one.

I plan on buying one for my tractor,it will probabLy be the folding one too, because i like to backdrag with my bucket alot, and a solid one would prevent this.

I don't know about others, but my Markham won't flip up unless you take it off first. It is notched over the end of the bucket. To flip it up, you'd have to remove both bolts, pull it out and flip it up, then put the bolts back in. The attached pic of Raybee's toothbar barely shows the steel under the bucket at each tooth.

I would just take it off and save a step or two.

I agree with Radair. My Markham tooth bar won't flip up either. The bolts need to be removed, the bar slid forward about 3 inches and then flipped up.

Each tooth on the bar has a 3 inch dog-leg that fits under the cutting edge of the bucket to provide support to the edge and the tooth.

The Markham toothbar's side pieces have a slotted hole for the bolt that passes through the bucket side. If you drill the hole for the bolt to be at the BACK of this slot, then yes - you will have to remove the bolts completely to get the toothbar out of the way. However if you drill the hole through the bucket several inches FORWARD from the back of this slot, then you can loosen the bolt, slide the toothbar forward enough to clear the leading edge of the bucket and flip it up without removal.

The ability to loosen, slide, and flip-up is all a function of where you drill the hole when you install the toothbar.

Expanding on Inspector507's installation statement, the tooth bar will have two holes on the side with a connecting channel. Drill only one hole on each side of the bucket: the hole closest to the front. Then when you want to flip it over you will loosen the bolts, slide the tooth bar forward and flip up and over.

I did not know I had a flippable tooth bar until after I took delivery of the tractor and saw the hole was drilled wrong - the rear holes. I now have a stationary tooth bar.

Maybe the new ones do, but mine has a single hole on each side. YMMV.

Mine too. And mine was made this summer.

My experiences are the same for my 7510. I highly recommend Markham.
