I had an experience today.
Loaded some stuff into the bucket and drove the tractor off trail and dumped the bucket. Went to go backwards, and the HST pedals were all collapsed!
Put it in gear, brake on and shut it down and looked underneath. A pin had come out. I went up hill, looking in the grass and thinking that I'll maybe need to go to the dealer to get a new pin. Then I thought: the forward pedal was working just before I stopped and worked the loader. Looking underneath in the grass, I found the pin. Put it in and backed all the way up to my carriage house ramp and ran up it with the rear wheels up the ramp and parked it there to give me good clearance underneath.
I used a key ring instead of a cotter pin, added a washer that I found and secured the pin again. Lubed it with silicone. Back in business. I used to use a key ring kind of securement on some of the Gravely pins, as they were prone to be grabbed and poked out of place, being so low to the ground. Even had some brush remove the oil dipstick on the Gravely.
