I am building a garage 30x48 10 feet high

I NEED HELP

I am trying to determine the height of the cement floor.
I have made the gravel grade measuring from the top of joist ( trust 3 ½ ) to the gravel
and it measures 127 in.

I am putting in 1 ½ blue board for insulation on top of the gravel
I want the cement to be 6 in. Thick
The kick board around the bottom is 12 in. ( 11 1/4 )
And I want to put a boarder of blue board
around the edge of this board
I would like to know what height to put this boarder which
should be the height or grade of the cement.

Should it measure 115 ½ from the top plate ???????????

I am lost.

Re: Floor height

What height or distance are you eventually after between the truss (lower side) and the concrete floor? It appears that what you will have is 9' 8" (116"). Now, I'm not sure from your description what and where the kickboard is located. Do you plan to pour concrete up against the kickboard? or have the bottom of the kickboard rest on the blueboard with their joint aligned with the top of the 6" concrete floor? or have the top of the kickboard at the top of the concrete floor?

Suggestion: If you are going to pour concrete over the 1 1/2" blueboard, lay a plastic film over the top before pouring. This will keep the concrete from running under the blueboard, making one heck of a mess if it does. The plastic will also be a good vapor barrier along with your insulated floor.

Re: Floor height

I am now measuring from the top of the bottom kick board
7 in. and putting in a 12 in piece of blue board around (inside)
of the building

Re: Floor height

Blue board is insulation that can get damp and still be ok

I have now had a friend come to the site and show me how
uniformed I am as he measured from the top of the door down 8ft and this is the top height of the
cement and then got a different measurement to match from the top plate and then moved to the
trust and added 3 ½ in and got a measurement
Now I have to re set the drains as I had them wrong.

Doing twice the work it is so much fun building it Ur. shelf.
