floor drain project

Hello, I have a tiling project to do in the laundry room, it is on a slab and this drain is currently there. I want the finished grout to be flush with a new brass grate, the kind that you see in a commercial kitchen or bathroom. As the picture shows its probably a female pvc glued on the top of a 2.5" pipeaw

In a bath shower stall, the drain is screwed in meaning the tile man can screw it up or downafter he does the mud bed and the tile so it is flush or just a tiny bit below the tile level. If you were to go to a Home Depot or Lowes or better yet a plumbing store they could show you the typical drain. If you see the drain then you understand. I have had to deal with that situation. If you get your new grate and take the old one off, you can see if the screw holes line up. If they do, take a piece of 3" pipe and make a spacer 1/4" or 1/2" or what ever the tile will be. Take some longer ss screws and screw the new grate on top of the spacer. Tile to it. If the hole don't line up, drill new ones,you may need concrete anchors.
