This may be a stupid question, but I'll ask anyway. Does anyone know what type of modifications would be required to burn flex fuel, if it's even possible, in a 1969 Ford truck. It has a 300ci inline six and a one barrel carb. I'm asking because the price of flex fuel around here is about a dollar less than regular. Thanks for the help.

E15 or E85?

The first requires nothing, the second is very involved.

Even if you can burnsE85 in your old truck, the savings per gallon on fuel will be offset by the lower mpg given. An example: My neighbor has a flex fuel Tahoe that delivers 14 mpg on gasoline, which falls to 10 mpg using E85.

All I've seen available locally is e85. Is it less involved, or possible, to run a mix of regular and e85?

You will have to change the carburetor and any of the rubber in the fuel system.

The carbs are available now from summit and jegs.
