Flat Metal

Where is a good place to pick up approx. 5ft pieces of flat iron/metal (3 or 4 inches wide)?

I get my metal from machine shops and scrap yards. May have to clean up some rough edges but much cheaper that supply stores.

Your local Fab shop, probably at near scrap prices...

There is a steel supply company in town that I go to for all my metal projects. If they don't have it, they can get it. If I need something small, they always seem to have scrap somewhere that I can buy from them really cheap. I would figure out where all the welders in your area go for materials.
