I ordered one too but I went the free-shipping route which means it must be on the slow boat from China. The shipping notification e-mail I got said it should be delivered in 2-3 weeks but some deliveries may take 4-6 weeks.

Some of those Chinese online storefronts give you the option of "expedited delivery". In some cases that's more than $50 for a 5 or 6 dollar item.

Mine arrived 2 days ago (4 1/2 weeks from date of order).

This one:
CREE XM-L T6 1-LED 38LM 5 Modes Zoom LED Flashlight STH-485135 - TinyDeal

It uses the 18650 Li-Ion battery that recharges to about 4 volts and also comes with a 3xAAA cradle that adapts it for use with 4.5 volts of alkaline. I'm very impressed with the amount of light it puts out and it's built pretty sturdy. I guess I'll find out how sturdy after I drop it a time or two. No batteries or charger were included but I already have them from a prior flashlight purchase.

After I'm done catching up here on TBN I am going back to order another 1 or 2 of these lights. Thanks to member Tallyho for the tip.

Same thing as mine only for the $12 I got an 18650 Lithium battery and a charger for it and a neat little hardcase to carry it all in.

Just got mine today, ordered 11-30-16, about 5 wk. The light throws a good beam on 3 AAA and at full beam the light turns square, unusual I thought, must be the norm on some Chinese flashlights, it's the second one I've seen that does that.

Came with a plastic tube? is it possible to get a charger and re-chargeable battery for this flashlight?

Sure, mine came with it for the $12, and a little plastic tube to take up some space as the 18650 battery is a bit thinner than the holder for the 3 AAA batteries. You can buy those batteries and a charger for them on Amazon, as well as many other locations. I just thought my deal for $12 that came with the flashlight, the 3 AAA adaptor the 18650 lithium rechargeable battery and spacer and the charger for it as well as a plastic case to carry it all in was a good deal. If you look carefully at the LED chip (preferably with the flashlight turned off if you ever want to see again) you will see that it is square. :) By the way I had mine delivered in a couple of days or so..

Be careful buying 18650 batteries. Some are unregulated so they will fry the flashlight and likely themselves.

Good Deal, welllll?, <<<That's debatable, I go to Amazon and look at your light for $12, read the reviews and most say it's JUNK, HUMM. I get two for $11 with just a plastic tube and no instructions, then I go on TBN, the reviews are 110%+++++, with all the info I was looking for, HUMMMMMM.

Now that I know what the tube is for, guess I'm all set, Criss Kringle dropped this off couple weeks ago>>> i-Mate Waterproof LED 6lm Bright Headlight Headlamp Flashlight 3 Bulbs CREE T6 LED with Rechargeable Batteries and AC Charger for Backpacking Hiking Camping Riding Fishing Hunting - - Amazon.com <<<has the same battery's and charger, but after reading all those ------ reviews, I'll just use 3 bunny battery's for now, afraid of blowing the bulb with no idea where to get a replacement.
A good point, make sure light is off, now I know why it has a square light. Bright, oh yeah, I can see Fort Lenard-Wood from here.......

Yep same thing as all the others including mine. There must be a million names embossed on these things. Sold from 5 to 20 dollars. Some with rechargable batteries and chargers, some without.

I just thought I could risk 4.99 to see if it will be any good. I already have 4 of those special batteries I never knew existed until about a month ago

In my opinion they are definitely worth the $5. It is a very bright flashlight with two additional dimmer modes and a focusable beam. As for the strobe flash and the SOS morse sending ability, well I am not sure how useful they are, but they are there if you need them. If you already have the 18650 batteries and a way to charge them, you are good to go with a rechargeable flashlight solution. On mine I put a rubber band on the negative end of the 18650 battery so that the spacer would not rattle back and forth in the barrel of the flashlight. It annoyed me that it could move back and forth and make a clicking noise when moved. If they had made the spacer sleeve a 1/4 inch longer it would not have done that. Or perhaps mine was just cut short.

I am not sure how the Chinese can make and sell these so cheaply. They are aluminum, with threads and O rings and an electronic circuit board and switch in the tailcap, and a 3 watt LED and reflector up front.

Are they as tough and waterproof and all of that like you see on TV? No, I don't think so, and time will tell how long they last, but for $5 or the $12 I paid for one with a rechargeable battery and charger and carrying case... Yeah I think they are worth a try.

"They must have read our positive reviews" <<<<Wow that was a quick price jump, think I saw $4.90 yesterday, but all the positive reviews we're on TBN, on Amazon they tore it apart label it junk. I paid $5.50 at Tinydeal 6 weeks ago because someone on here recommended it with a 10 star rating with a $7.00 taillight guaranty. Anyone know where to get replacement parts for these lights just in case Amazon is right?

I am pretty sure if you need parts, you need to order two. One to use and one to gut for parts.

partially press the tailcap switch. Not enough to "click" it but enough to "bump" it. The first bump will be a dimmer beam, the next bump will be a dimmer yet beam (these are battery saving modes when you don't need the full brightness. The next bump will be the strobe mode, and the next bump will be the SOS morse code mode. If you click the tail cap of course it will go off and the good part is it comes on full brightness each time.
