my mott 72 justs cuts to shprt with roller as low as i can put it . how can i raise the cutting height

First things first,

The flail mower MUST BE LEVEL when mowing. Use a torpedo level on the flat front edge of the flail mower or the gear box if it is a flat gearbox and then back the top link out until the bubble on the torpedo level becomes level. After that you can be assured of a good mowing set up. Also be sure that the lower links are equal in length.

Make sure Three Point Hitch Lifting Rod stirrups are pinned to the Lower Links in the TOP pin holes, not the BOTTOM pin holes.

Lengthen your top link so it lifts the front of the flail higher riding on the roller to the desired height.

Level, or even with the tractor's rear axle? In other words, do your instructions assume that the tractor is on perfectly level ground (L/R) when leveling the mower?
