Thanks for all of the help everyone, especially Scot who put me in touch with Ray and Henry and Thingy for all the fun listening to you stir up the other guys. Made up my mind to buy a Jinma from guys at Coldwater. Put my name on a 184 and a 284 coming in shipment in a few weeks so I can look at both and choose what I like. About 1100 more for 284 over 184 but not sure how much I need. They build their own loaders and install for $1500. Definately going to have one put on and give it a try at that price.

Good point, this is why it is good to get either from a dealer who will back up the unit. The new tractor will usually have a better warranty than used.

Glad to help, I need to get back up to see them again as I want to buy a 4’ mower deck. You have a tough decision ahead of you , I could have gone with either tractor when I bought ours , I only have an acre of land so I really did not even really need a tractor I could have gotten by renting one 2-3 times a year, but it was a just something I have always wanted. (Don’t tell any one but tractors are fun) . In the end I bought the 284 because my wife liked it better. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well, you do know you're getting a new one,,,,,,,,,,and if you bought it from the right place,,,,you know you got a warrenty,,,[mine had a 6 months parts and labor, and I bought an additional 6 months for 2-300 dollars, forget,,didn't get to use it though],,,,,,,now,,if these people who recondition these yanmores,,would all REALLY recondition them,,,,[overhaul motor,,,new alternator, starter, battery,,,recondition raditiator,,new brakes,,,bearings,,,drain and clean fuel tank,,new tires,,,etc,,,etc,,],,,and than put a free 6 months parts and labor warrenty on them,,,,yeah,,,maybe than,,,the used yanmore would be the better deal,,,,,,like I said though,,they all don't really recondition them,,,just fix the obvious,,clean em up,,little paint,,,,and thats SOME ,of thems idea of a reconditioned tractor,,,I know this cause my neighbor has one,,,and it was not,,"reconditioned",,in the true since of the word,,,thats why little things keep wearing out and breaking down,,,and everybody talks about jinma parts hard to get,[which is a lie],,,,,,,he finally had to drive 4 hrs round trip,,to get somebody to rebuild his starter,,cause he couldn't find a replacement,,he was down a few weeks over that,,,,just the latest,in his breakdowns,[he don't tell me all either],,,,thingy

I f you from the right dealer you can get a ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, YANMAR,,,,,,,,,,,, (for those that can't spell) ,,,,,,,,,,,,with a 6 mo parts & labor warranty. Just like the jinmahoe /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif,,,,,,,,,,,,,,kenmac

/ first chinese tractor? #30
How the ^%## do you spell that anyways????yanmar,,yanmore,,yanmor,,,,it sounds like yanmor,,,but thats not right is it,,,,thats why I never could spelll,,,words are sometimes[alot],spellled different than they sound,,,,,,now jinma is spelled like it sounds,,,or is it?????,,,maybe thats the way we spell it cause thats the way it sounds????wonder what it looks like in chinese writing????? Wonder what yanmor looks like in japanese writing???? And I ain't smoked a thing today either,,,,,To sum it up for you though,,yanmore is a good tractor,,if its been reconditioned right,,,it may well be a better tractor than a new jinma,,,the key there is IF,,,,,,BUT,,,these chinese tractors,[not just jinma],are just starting to catch on over here,,and they are improving them all the time,,,[they wasn't made to bad 3 - 4 years ago, evidently],,and they will keep improving,,,,they could very well be the number 3 or 4 seller in a few years,,,and probably other less well known brands,[and maybe some weller known brands as well]won't be around anymores,,,,,,,but its all about what you think,,I never did like buying something with a motor used,,,,cause I generally don't sell something till its worn out or just don't work right myself,,,assume other people are about alike in this regard,,,,,thingy

Hey Dick,

That was my thinking exactly, as I also looked at the socalled reconditioned YanMoors. When I asked them if the hours on the tack was correct, even the selling dealer said not to count on it and that they often just switch tacks around however that they want to. It just seemed to risky for me, so I opted for a brand new Jinma. At least I know that it is new from the get go, and hopefully with good maintenance it will last. But that is just me and I know that there are others with used---,,,,,VERY USED,,,,,, Tractors that are coming out ok as well.

I just like the idea of getting Power Steering, Canopy, Spring Seat, 4WD, and the idea of getting a brand new tractor from the get go.

I also agree with you Dick, that at the current pace, The Chinese tractors are Fixing/Preparing to turn the Whole Tractor Industry on it's ,,,,,,, Ear. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It's really a sad note, as the American Tractor Manufacturers had the opportunity years ago to continue to dominate the Tractor Industry, but because they chose to fatten their pockets, instead of producing tractors at a price that the economical owner could afford, they are about to fall by the wayside. Or should I say, Move their tractor plants to China or another country that will keep them in the market a while longer, until they can't exploit the buyers and fatten their pockets anylonger.

I watched a Farm Tractor Show on the History Channel the other night and it was about the John Deere Tractor manufacturing Plant. The tractor had Gps, Auto Steering, and they showed the Spring Seat, and commented that it rode so easy. It was such a beautiful tractor, the paint job was so shiney and it was the same color as MONEY , and I am quiet sure that it would get a blue ribbon at any Tractor Beauty Contest. I don't remember exactly how much the tractor was, but it was something like 200K.

My little tractor does't have Gps, Auto Steering, electronic digital fuel control, telephone, Steering Wheel HandWarmer, StereoPhonic Music, and I wouldn't take it to a Tractor Beauty contest either, but it does have a Spring Seat, & When I give it the gas, it pulls, & when I get to the other end it turns, and the next morning it is ready to do it all over again, and it only cost 5K.

OUR LEADERS ARE TOTALLY OUT OF TOUCH WITH US COMMON FOLK, IMHO. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

You are comparing the cost of a full fledged 200hp farm tractor to a Jinma? A $200K tractor is a full sized farm tractor. My Deere compact only has the spring seat. You can't get GPS, steering wheel warmer and all that other stuff you mentioned on a Deere compact. Here is a realistic price comparison:

John Deere 4310
32hp
Power Reverser transmission
Spring seat (of course)
R4 tires
Quick detach loader with quick detach bucket
2 year parts and labor warranty
0% interest financing
$16,900 out the door

Mantis, take a look at the Koyker loaders. Around here they are about $2500 installed. They have dual dump cylinders and are quick detach.

Hey Brent, /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thank you for pointing that out. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

And your comparison, reflects my point exactly. As East Winds was selling a 35 hp Kama, 4wd, ps, for 6K.

I'm sure that the Kama isn't as good as your John Deere, and doesn't have the warranty that your John Deere does, but on the other hand, it is 10k less than your John Deere.

If I had the extra money's, I would most likely have gotten a John Deere as well, but I had to live within my budget. And the point that I was trying to make is that John Deere has priced themselves out of the market for a lot of buyers.

Here in the Chinese Section, I think that you will find that is the case for just about all of us. We get more tractor for our money's , when we buy Chinese, we are able to stay within our budgets, and we still get the job done.

Have a nice day,
Joe /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
