I have a 1949 8N should that be able to handle a 5 foot finish mower?

I used a five foot finish mower on a John Deere M, about the same horsepower. It would bog down if I was in very heavy grass, but under normal conditions it handled it well. Don't forget to use an overrunning clutch to prevent the mower from driving the tractor when you push the clutch in.

+1 on the overrunning PTO clutch. If you do not know what it is here is a write-up from tractordata.com. You can purchase them from TSC. I got a friend to purchase one and now is NO longer running into things when he is using his rotary cutter on his Ferguson.
