jk96 it's a shame you you had to go to so much trouble with thieve's but having them caught will at least give you the satisfaction of having installed the cameras.

Atleast they caught the guy. Hopefully he doesn't get to go home before the arresting officer does though.

I bet he does . It IS HARD TO BELIEVE that he was not checked out with that load of junk . Of course , around here the LEO would not want anything to do with it .

I was told by Little Rock police man that most rental trucks leaving town after midnight toward Memphis or Dallas were loaded with stolen items but could not stop unless a warrant or code violation to investigate.
interested if camera will produce a arrest. Also told that if Sherriff did not see the crime it was not chargeable,

Yep, there's a little thing called the constitution that protects us from unreasonable search and seizure. And "looking suspicious or bad" doesn't quite fit the description. So inconvenient in cases like this.

If I ruled the world, a thief would get the following: First time offense, lose a finger. Second offense, lose a hand. Third offense, lose an arm.......You get the picture.

In a number of states third felony conviction is automatic life in prison. Called THREE STRIKES AND YOU ARE OUT.

That's along the lines of Islamic Sharia law.

The Texas laws regarding stopping a thief at night, including shooting them to death, are perhaps the least stringent nationally. Not recommending it, repeat, NOT recommending it, just pointing it out ...see one version of the story here. There are always the ramifications of cost, trial, moral, ethical and psychological long term effects when it happens.

Nope, as aggravating as theft is, stuff isn't worth shooting someone over, lacking deadly threat during its commission, which makes the theft moot and self defense paramount.
