Thanks for posting your tiller purchase Lucky. I have been looking at that same tiller. It sure looks like it does a good job. What HP tractor are you running it with?

i have a 55 horse 4x4 it says it has 45 at the pto which is more than enough to turn that tiller it never bogged down one of the guys gardens i tilled was really hard packed clay it took a couple passes to bust it up right another thing that was a problem in that patch was there were small terraces that the shoes were riding on and the center of the tiller couldnt reach the dirt so i had to slow my speed and eat away at the terrace so the tiller would drop into the dip worked out pretty good i was running it in 1 low at 540 and it never skipped a beat even when i snatched up a 8 foot ground rod lol oh yeah it says it takes 100 ounces of 85 w 140 oil for the gear boxes so i bought 4 quarts so i would have some left over make sure you buy 6 quarts i had to make 2 30 minute trips to the store

Spray the yard with round-up first and let the grass die, then till it up. Will work up very nice.

Yes, they are the perfect tool for that. As mentioned above, just spray roundup first to kill the existing vegetation and its roots, then till. Make sure you read the directions on the Roundup.
If you don't kill the existing veg. first, it will make cleanup take a lot longer and a lot of it will re-grow again.
I just did one of those jobs for a customer. Here's the York Rake phase. Prior to that, I used a Harley rake to break up soil and get the rocks out.
