What's wrong with how it is now?

I have had mine for about 10 years and i have no issues with it. Just mate it to a good pump and it works great. The only thing I have done is put rubber bumpers on the boom where the ends fold in because if you hit something and the end of the boom snaps in uncontrolled I did break a nozzle one time. No big deal but a little annoying in the middle of a spray job. Everything else has been fantastic.

1ST LET ME THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR RESPONSE, I have not picked it up yet due to work, But I have seen where some people (forums) have changed several items right out of the gate, (gauge, return hose size, and fixed nozzle shut-off valves to have it where they can spray with different boom sections. I have never had or used a boom or even a boomless sprayer before, so I was kinda hopeful to get a few ideals and this is the 1st time I have ever been on a forum where I could do more then just read what other people had posted. I will get better at this whole forum thing. I was looking at the john deere sprayer online (45 gal. 3pt. electric) but could find no reviews

For a very big boom sprayer I would want a PTO pump.

What was the reason people gave for replacing the return line?

Iam looking at a10' or 12' foot boom, I think they replaced the return line due to blowing hose off, I will try to find that post again and see if there where any other reasons

I have one and I'm not a fan of their pumps. I bought one off of Craigslist about 6 months ago. I showed up at the seller's place and he was working on the pump. it worked up until the time he wanted to sell; it didn't, so I got a good deal on it.

Looked up reviews on Fimco pumps and most said they worked fine for a couple years, then wouldn't pump. In addition to that, were constant complaints about the ports leaking, especially the output ports. Fimco pumps use clip on/O-ringed barbed ends, not NPT threaded barbs. Instead of trying to fix the pump (parts at $25 plus $10 shipping - Yes!), I decided to just replace it with a Northern Tools 4 gpm pump with NPT threaded barbed inlet/outlet. Now it works great.

Howdy neighbor.

I have a 10' boom on my sprayer and run it with a 5 gpm pump I bought at Rural King. I found out after buying that 5 gpm is overkill and 3 to 4 would have been plenty.

Mine did not come with a pump. I had a small roller vane PTO pump (5 roller) I had purchased at TSC or its predecessor and I have used it. I only run the RPMs at about 1650 as that provides me adequate pressure.

Thanks for all the input, and really nice to hear from someone local. I went ahead and got the fimco 60gal. 3pt. with pto pump from tractor supply, Have not got it uncreated yet, I do plan on doing some upgrades on the fittings, gauge, and set it up so I can spray with left-center-right or all three sections. hope to get to spray pasture next week due to alot of yellow buttercups, not good for horses as per vet. will update how its going soon. Once again thanks
