I never wanted to insinuate that a Fram filter would instantly kill your engine. It is that you can get a better filter often for less money.

I know what your saying. I feel similar. I have seen those filter cut videos , the walmart filters had as good of construction as more high price ones beating fram. The walmart filter selection seems to be cut back in recent years though.

I agree Wix is good. I went searching for the Wix 51568 at the local Oreilly auto parts and could not find it. I later found the Purolator L24458 on closout for $1.38 each on Rock Auto. I bought 6 of them.

i have found filters like that at rock auto. I use L10241 on my Toyotas and when i had my Saturn it took them too and use them on briggs lawnmowers. I found some Hastings filters that were branded for some parts house or place on rock auto for a similar price and bought a good many of them a few years ago. I just put the last one i had on the highlander.
