I would be interested in knowing if your hay prices have increased too.

No one around central Iowa can complain about the price of electricity.

In 1999 I paid 14.2 cents per kilowatt
In 2022 I paid 14.5 cents per kilowatt

Those prices include all fees and taxes and averaged for the entire year.

No they haven’t.
Hay prices are pretty flat around here. Have no idea what that has to do with energy prices.
Now that I revealed that, man/woman-up and let’s hear if you had an increase in pay?

Per your previous post “
Just saw electricity prices are up 10.2% average nationwide. Solar and wind not bringing prices down”.

Do you have any documentation of that “fact” or is it just guess?

No on pay increase as I’m retired and survive on my SS and annual cost of living increases.

Just heard it on the news yesterday, and the news man didn’t stutter. Mine are up at least that much.
And we have more solar and wind power than ever.

Maybe this will help:

Nice spin, but if you read the article it states…

“Electricity costs are relentlessly climbing because prices for the two biggest power-plant fuels -- natural gas and coal -- have surged in the last year…”

No mention that solar is the reason for the cost increases.

And energy prices have surged because of newly added taxes, too.

2021 = 13.7/kw hour
2022 = 14.8/kw hour

Alfalfa is a legume

yes you are correct alfalfa is a legume.

just as an FYI there are 2 main types of hay being grass and legume (some say 3 when gras/legume mixed).

- Legume hay alfalfa and clover.
- Grass hay fescue, bromegrass, timothy, orchardgrass, ryegrass, fescue Bermuda, bluegass.
I don't think I missed any and if I did feel free to add.

cheers

Do you ever read the articles that you post links to? You keep pushing coal and natural gas as the “low-cost” energy sources however, the increase in energy costs seems to be due to coal and natural gas.

From the article:
“Electricity costs are relentlessly climbing because prices for the two biggest power-plant fuels -- natural gas and coal -- have surged in the last year as the US economy rebounds”

Anything to do with the penalties being put on fossil fuels and the subsidies for solar & wind?

/ Fighting 'Solar Farm' Installation #774
For example?
If you don’t know that the G_______t is making it more expensive to extract and utilize fossil fuels and how much subsidy taxpayers are paying for wind & solar, then you must not be paying attention.

So is that more than the 5.9 trillion that we are spending to support fossil fuel energy?

Fake news. The article states:

Explicit subsidies accounted for only 8 percent of the total. The remaining 92 percent were implicit subsidies, which took the form of tax breaks or, to a much larger degree, health and environmental damages that were not priced into the cost of fossil fuels, according to the analysis.

In other words they count tax deductions for standard business expenses as subsidies. Then make up another huge number for "environmental damages."

The price of oil and coal are skyrocketing because of the political war on oil and coal due to our current government policies.

You can't be serious. Do you really think that article presents reality? Data based on the the International Monetary Fund? Do you even know what the International Monetary Fund is?
He’s not. And there’s no sense in taking him that way.
After the post made that windmills “smell like money”, I knew we were dealing with someone involved in the green energy business, or a big supporter, donor, etc.
