have to wonder about oil pump failure.
Interesting, but I don't think so. The oil pressure idiot light never came on (except for that brief period at startup) and the rod journal didn't look scored and certainly didn't look like the classic seized bearing, so I think it is more likely to be rod bolt failure. I don't have a good theory on what would have caused that.

Wow, great that it's under warranty. Hopefully it won't take forever to get it fixed. Do keep us posted on how it goes. This is where a manufacturer shows what they are really made of, and hopefully it's good stuff in this case.

Same happened to the Dodge Durango Hemi…

It was a known defect allowing water from rain or washing to be drawn through the intake to block seal and liquids don’t compress and boom.

Did the rod break or come loose at crank end? Could have been faulty rod end cap or rod itself. Not common but it does happen. Either way might need two tubes of JB weld to patch the block😁
