Fendt 920 Vario TMS
Hello Everyone,

I’m trying to help a friend source a specific spare part for his Fendt 920 Vario TMS (ML200 transmission). He is not internet savvy and doesn’t speak English, and I’m not very technical, so I’m hoping someone here can point me in the right direction.

I’ve attached photos and the exploded diagram.
The part we’re looking for is Item No. 25 in the drawing.
From what I could find online it appears to be the seal/ring pack for the hydrostatic pump/motor control cylinder inside the LM200 Vario unit (he needs 3 complete sets) and also I could be wrong on this.

We have tried searching everywhere and can’t find the seals sold as a kit.

Does anyone know where these seals can be purchased?

Any country or supplier is fine as long as they ship internationally.
He only needs the parts and he does not want to send the transmission to a dealer for repair.

Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated!

I can’t help you directly, but you might want to try Agriteer in Leola, PA. Huge Fendt dealer with excellent parts.
The reason this may be a difficult find is because AGCO wants to sell a rebuilt transmission for $20,000. My guess is they may not actually sell them because they don’t want to lose the money to be made on this, but that’s just a guess.

Have you tried going to an hydraulic shop with said seals and see if they can match those? That's usually the best route, at least without any part numbers to go by.

I was told the CVT transmissions that fail are usually seal failure causing pressure issues.
My servicing dealer said “CVT’s go belly-up quickly. They can be working fine in the morning, and fail that afternoon”.

Fixing the seals may fix the problem, but my guess is the rebuilt units have many other worn parts being replaced in them, too.

Trying to find the part number, for it. the hydraulic shop I don't think will work in this case because besides the rubber seal there are some other material (teflon?) seals too. And he is more keen on OEM part if possible.

Will check it out, thank you.

They may be able to source that as well. A good shop may even be able to make any seals needed. I know one of the three around me can make custom seals.

If he wants OEM, he definitely needs a part number then.

Where to get the Part. No. from tho? I tried to search for a few manuals, but can't find the Part. No. for it. Do you know where I could get the full spare parts list/manual from? Preferably for free.

I have this feeling those are given to professionals only. I don’t think Fendt wants farmers from Snodgrass, Mississippi opening their CVT’s up.

Could be wrong, but that’s my gut feeling.

I share the same thoughts as you and why I suggested an hydraulic shop. Fendt most likely want certified shops to do that kind of work.

I’m running 4 tractors with Fendt CVT’s now. Always worried about them, but I have been reassured they are extremely durable.
On the 200HP and less tractors, they can go 15,000 hours with proper basic care.
On the 200HP and up engaged in heavy work, they run about 10,000 hurs with care.

My 655E is the only one I have above 200HP (its 300HP) and it had a reman CVT in it at 9,000 hours, so I should be good until I’m taking a dirt nap. 😁

I was also told since they are a drop-in reman unit, they are rarely rebuilt at dealer. It’s like a $20,000 job for the smaller ones (under 200HP). Bigger ones are closer to $30,000.
The smaller ones are typically cheaper than a full 18 speed powershift.

Cab comes off and it’s done from up top. 1 day of labor with an experienced tech.

After nearly a week of searching, I found the part number (thank you kind stranger) and from there by searching just by the part number managed to find the part too, OEM part and they also ship internationally. I'll leave it here in case anyone ever looks for it, to save them the hassle. As this was just a helping hand I was offering, I doubt I'll be back here unless he will need help again.

Part No: G916101430050 and G916101430051 they both match for this type of vario.

It's little over €70 per piece and takes around 10 days.

Thank you everyone for your input and help!

See my other comment, you can buy the part only for €70 ish each. Here is another site that has parts. To save you the hassle, no point in searching in Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Ireland and fk remembers what other countries I searched in.

Is he going to rebuild the CVT himself in his shop?
