For the cost it maybe worth just getting a hydraulic SS quick attach unit. Brings the post in closer and if you want to resell it later I am sure it would hold its value as it is a true attachment.

I'd like to see a unit like that set up to either clamp onto trees to pull them or to convert to a tree shear. Maybe that is just too much of a Swiss Army Knife to hope for, though.

Seems like it would not be that hard to make interchangeable blades - one for sheering and one for pulling. Good idea!

I built this tree puller few years ago. It also works good for pulling steel posts or anything bigger. Gotta be careful to not pinch the steels too much.
