This weekend I was in Northern Wisconsin. We had a light snow storm on Sunday. Before leaving the great white north we had approx. 12 inches of snow on the ground. I used my tractor FEL to plow the snow. It worked OK. Had to push in a straight line and it was not perfect but did a good job.

I would touch the bucket to the ground with the bottom tilting slightly up from level. I would push the control handle all the way foreward to the float posistion, and drive foreward. It did scoop just the snow except for a little bit of gravel. Actually less gravel than I seen pickups with a plow take and a lot less than I expected. I did have the FEL pop out of float a couple of times. I wonder if this is normal?

Over all it did do a pertty good job.

Evening Jeff.
Can't speak for all but my FEL does as you wrote...good bucket bounce or stiff hit...leaving your hand on the joy stick in float while traveling over the rough spots shouldn't pop out.

If thats all the gravel you scrape up,I say you got the nack of it.

After I bought a tractor with a FEL I took my snow plow off and haven't missed it one bit. I believe I can clear the driveway of snow just as fast as when I was using the rear blade but I'm sure a front blade would be a different story.
